Client: New Americans Refugee Resettlement Program
Design Challenge: The Central New York refugee resettlement agency have been waiting for a well-designed handbook for both caseworkers and refugees newly arrived at Syracuse, New York from Somalia.
Design Solution: The book is designed based on both timeline and subject matter, provide handholding for refugees throughout their resettling process, from their incoming flight to the application of U.S. citizenship. Different topics are color-coded with notes and pages easy to take out. Each refugee family is to receive one copy, which also allows them to keep records of their family, as well as their case workers.
The book is designed as bilingual to help the refugees learn and practice English. Stickers in the content can be taken out and used as warnings or notes to learn vocabulary.
